As I’m sure you’re all aware, VAT is set to rise again at the beginning of 2011. If you are seriously thinking about investing in a classic Aston Martin and you are eligible to pay VAT it may be worth taking this into consideration.
Whilst the savings that can be made by beating the deadline are not reason enough to warrant a rash purchase, if you are on the verge of buying they are certainly worth noting.
As an example, if you were to buy a DB2 DHC for £249,950 the difference between VAT at 17.5% and 20% would be £6,249, that’s enough for a case of CHATEAU LAFITE 1988!

We had an absolutely fantastic time at this year’s Goodwood Revival. It wasn’t all play of course, but our General Manager Clive Dickinson said it was an absolute pleasure to deal with so many like-minded people and well worth the 700 mile round trip.
This was our first ever visit to the event and we are already planning a much larger presence for next year.

We were privileged to have a car on display at the hotel that forms the heart of the Yas Marina Circuit. We were there for the duration of the final week of the 2010 Formula 1 calendar, and what a week it was.
The event took on an extra significance this year with no less than four drivers in the running for the title, with Sebastian Vettel taking the Championship in the end of course, double honors for Red Bull and a worthy Champion.
The atmosphere was electric for the whole week and we got off to a flying start when we attended a dinner at the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi held to celebrate the achievements of UK companies involved in Formula 1.

John Webster – Transport Manager
What is your job role at Aston Workshop?
Transport Manager – responsible for the movement of customers cars throughout the UK
Where did you work before Aston Workshop?
With my wife’s help, I ran a small business transporting classic and prestige cars with our covered car transporter
What’s the best part of your job?
Once I leave Aston Workshop with my truck, I am left to get on and do what I do best. This means that I can work the hours to suit traffic and travelling, this often means that on the return journey, after an overnight park up, I can leave at 3 or 4 am, reaching Aston Workshops around lunchtime, off loading, then the rest of the day is my own.

Intermittent Wiper Upgrade for Classic Cars
How many times do you find when driving that you instinctively reach for the windscreen wash-wipe, or find that the precipitation is insufficient to have the wipers on full time and instinctively look for the intermittent wipe? On one’s own everyday car, these things we take for granted and we find them convenient, help us to be safe and we don’t scratch the windscreen by dragging wiper blades across a dry and dirty windscreen…

Aston Workshop is pleased to announce the launch of a new, dedicated Aston Martin gifts site.
Until now, it has only been possible to purchase gifts through our online parts site. Whilst this works fine in most respects, there are close to 2500 parts listed and we decided that a site dedicated purely to gifts would obviously be a lot easier to navigate for those only wishing to buy gifts and accessories.

Ron Powell
“Like most classic Astons there were 3 or 4 owners in the early years before she became the pride & joy of John Herring in January 1968.
John is an AMOC member and clearly cherished the car during his time with her.
I first laid eyes on her in John’s garage in Weybridge on 16th June 2009, it took no time at all to reach the decision to buy, love at first sight I guess.”
