Further Information

0–60 mph in 5.2 seconds and 0-100 in 10.2. These are extremely rapid acceleration times even by today’s standards, but when this car was launched in 1979, they were truly exceptional. Contemporary road testers were astounded, and for a number of years it held the title of being the fastest accelerating production 4-seat car available in the world. We are pleased to offer for sale this fine example of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage X-Pack (late model). This fantastic looking car, one of the very last Series 3 V8 Vantage saloons to be made, has an unspoilt, original interior in black with red piping plus a rare (and expensive factory ordered) sun-roof. But it’s the sheer presence of this car that first captures your attention. It really is an awesome sight from every angle, its intent clearly stated, even when standing still. Fortunately, the actual driving experience lives up to first impressions. The performance of this model is effortless, urgent and extremely rapid, providing a never to be forgotten driving experience that is utterly intoxicating. Add to this the exquisite luxury interior and you have the classic combination for which Aston Martin has become world famous. First registered in 1988, it has covered a recorded 94,900 miles and has had only 3 owners from new. This car has wanted for nothing during its lifetime and comes with a continuous full service history from Aston Martin Works Service and an approved Aston Martin Service agent. Highly recommended, there are few original ‘Vantage X-Pack’ available - a true collector’s item. Once sampled nothing less is acceptable. Essentially the same in shape and size to the standard V8 Saloon, it came with a substantially up-rated engine, modifications to the front panel, introduced a deep front spoiler and modified gearing. As a result performance was substantially improved. The suspension was lowered and stiffened and brakes increased in size. Almost from the first car, the need for a rear spoiler became imperative! The increased power came mainly from an increase in the size of the Weber carburettors, increased diameter valves to improve engine breathing with revised camshafts, improvements to inlet and exhaust manifolds and a larger bore exhaust. In 1986, the series 3 V8 Vantage was introduced and a further upgrade to the engine was available as a customer option. This became known as the X-Pack. This is one such up rated car and all of these have now become highly prized by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
