A World Class Restoration
Aston Workshop are delighted to offer a rare opportunity to commission a bespoke Aston Martin DB5 restoration. Having sourced one of the 887 original DB5s produced between 1963 and 1965, our bespoke restorations take place on-site at our 45,000 sq.ft. facility with the end goal being to produce a better-than-new example of one of the world’s most iconic cars. With over 400 years of collective Aston Martin experience in the company, as well as one of the most expansive and modern facilities in the industry, our professional and comprehensive restoration program combines state-of-the-art engineering techniques with irreplaceable traditional methods of classic car maintenance and care.
The Restoration Process
Due to the level of demand for our bespoke projects we aim to have a restoration underway in advance of a prospective owner getting in touch. The extensive and time-consuming chassis and body restoration on this DB5 has already been carried out, with the next step being customer specification. Once the owner has chosen the interior and exterior colours as well as chosen a mechanical specification (we have a range of engine, transmission and handling options) the build can begin in earnest. Regular reports on the progress of the restoration ensure the owner is kept up to date, while we also encourage owners to visit our facilities to see their car grow for themselves. A full description of the process behind one of our previous projects can be found here.
Built to Your Unique Specification
The Aston Martin DB5 is one of the world’s most iconic cars, and a classic DB5 deserves more than just a ‘standard’ classic car restoration. Every aspect of an Aston Workshop restoration is bespoke to each owners individual specification, which can range from simple exterior and interior colour choices to LHD conversions, upgraded engines and transmission swaps, ensuring the car we build is truly the dream Aston Martin for its owner. At Aston Workshop, the word ‘Bespoke’ goes as far as the owner desires; we will build the car to your exact specification and incorporate any custom demands that will set your DB5 apart from any other.
Discreetly Innovative
Our approach to restoration places a focus on producing a car that far surpasses the original product that left the Aston Martin factory. Our uniquely experienced staff utilise both traditional methods and cutting-edge engineering techniques to ensure our restorations are authentic to the originality of the car while offering modern upgrades to the classic Aston Martin experience. Subtle enhancements such as modern gearbox upgrades and more powerful braking systems provide much-improved driver enjoyment while externally remaining faithful to the timeless Aston Martin beauty and design. Our in-house produced engine blocks deliver power and reliability far beyond what was achievable in period.
With You for Every Step of the Journey
What sets Aston Workshop apart from other restorers is our all-encompassing approach enabled by the extensive facilities at our disposal. By ensuring as much work as possible is done here at our County Durham complex, we can carefully monitor and control the complete restoration process allowing us to take full accountability for the quality of work from start to finish. For the Aston Workshop employees who have dedicated their career to caring for these legendary cars, this is more than just a job. Our personal commitment to preparing the very best Aston Martin restoration extends our open lines of communication with owners to regular workshop visits and even overnight stays at our 300-year-old gastropub and hotel, the Black Horse Beamish.
