Aston Workshop are delighted to present for sale this fully restored 1965 Aston Martin DB5. Featuring a wide range of subtle modern enhancements, and fully restored to the finest condition, this beautiful DB5 represents a fantastic example of the famous silver-screen icon.
The ground-up restoration process took over two years to complete, with no stone left unturned in our effort to make this one of the finest DB5s in the world. A full photographic record of the restoration can be found here. If undertaken today, a project of this depth, scope and quality would likely cost in the region of £350,000 plus VAT. The works included:
- A full bare metal body restoration and respray in Silver Birch, the iconic James Bond colour.
- Full chassis restoration to better-than-factory condition.
- Engine rebuild to 4.2L specification, including several upgrades detailed below.
- Full engine testing and tuning program on our dynamometer.
- Fitment of a modern 5-speed manual transmission.
- Steering overhaul and fitment of electric power steering.
- Full retrim including Bridge of Weir leather and Wilton wool carpets.
A focus on improved drivability and driver enjoyment led to the following upgrades being fitted:
