Further Information
Although it shared visual cues with the DB5, the DB6 offered superior high-speed stability courtesy of its new Kamm tail, and greater interior space due to a wheelbase 3.7” longer than its predecessor. The four-seater hand-finished aluminium panels and sheet-steel platform chassis contributed to a claimed weight of 1,474kg, only 8kg more than a DB5. All-round coil-sprung suspension was employed on the DB6 as were four-wheel disc brakes and rack-and-pinion steering. Its power until was well proven, with the Tadek Marek-designed, 3,995cc twin-cam straight-six which was quoted as developing 282bhp and 280lb/t of torque in standard tune. Available transmissions consisted of a ZF five-speed manual or Borg Warner automatic.
This particular DB6 has completed 101,419 miles having recently had the following work carried out by our good selves here at the Aston Workshop. Both Sills inner and outer were fully replaced, the Boot floor/outrigger and spare wheel well were replaced, the car was fully painted in Silver Birch, new headlining fitted, the dashboard retrimmed and painted, new carpets throughout, the leather interior was refurbished and recoloured, inertia reel seat belts fitted, new aluminium radiator fitted with electric fan, fully serviced, negative earth conversion done, new steering wheel fitted, supplied & fitted a new 123 distributor with new leads & coil as well as fully refurbished the carburettors.
If you would like to enhance this DB6 to your specifications we can help. If you would like to convert it from RHD to LHD, change the colour, convert it to electric power, fit an air conditioning unit, fit an automatic transmission, or anything else, we can accommodate your request.
