We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning 1976 Ferrari 208 GT4 “DINO”. Presented in original factory specification of Azzuro metallic exterior with a dark blue cloth velour interior.
This beautiful and rare 2+2 Ferrari having just covered only 38,859 KM was restored from early 2015 to late 2016 by marque specialists Modena Classic Works in Italy. This restoration is well documented with both photographs and text describing the process in their signature red Ferrari folder.
The “DINO” 208 GT4 came about when Ferrari decided to fit a 2000cc engine in the body of the “DINO” 308 GT4. The car was designed primarily for the Italian market, because at that time taxation was particularly heavy on cars with engines above 2 litres. The engine capacity was decreased by reducing the bore of the 3-litre model, but maintaining the same stroke.
Although the reduction in displacement caused a similar cut in performance, the small but sophisticated V8 engine could still propel the car to over 220Km/h. The 208 GT4 was produced between 1975 and 1980. During which time 840 examples were built in all LHD configuration.
The 208 GT4 available for sale represents a unique period in Ferrari as well as practical 2+2 classic car motoring.
