Aston Workshop has gained a considerable amount of experience in providing air conditioning systems fit for use in tropical and humid climates, where ambient air temperatures regularly exceed 40 degrees Celsius. Such tropicalised systems have been fitted to a wide range of cars including DB4s, DB5s and DB6s, V8 and even Feltham-era cars.

While air conditioning was available on some Astons in period, modern systems are far superior and can be tailored to suit the climate the car operates in. Our in-house developed air conditioning kits are designed to handle climates much hotter than the UK market these cars were designed for, and by combining a number of upgrades we can build a system that suits your required performance and budget. 

All our air conditioning kits make use of an uprated modern compressor and condenser, which offer sizable improvements over their period counterparts, as well as modern blower motors, subtle cabin vents and a discreet control panel under the dash. The placement of the evaporator is the main point of consideration with our modern A/C kits, with three options available:

• Our integrated in-dash air conditioning system utilises the space originally allocated to the heater plenum chamber to house the evaporator and modified heater matrix. This kit allows for a very usable air conditioning system without the need for major changes to your car.
• For an improvement over our in-dash system, our passenger footwell kit allows for a larger evaporator to be fitted for even better A/C performance. A minimal reduction in footwell space allows for a robust and powerful air conditioning system.
• Finally, we offer an air conditioning kit that utilises an original air conditioning housing in the rear of the car, below the rear screen. A modern evaporator is used within the original housing, combining originality with modern engineering advancements.
