Fitment: DB2, DB2/4, DB2/4 MkII, DB MkIII, DB4
Before the introduction of the DB5 in 1963 classic Aston Martins were equipped with dynamos for electrical supply and battery charging. Owners focused on originality over all else would be keen to stick with their original dynamo, however our modern alternator conversions combine the aesthetics of a dynamo with the benefits of an alternator making this a true ‘best of both worlds’ upgrade.
Upgrading to an alternator-based electrical system (required for an upgrade to negative earth for example) comes with a range of benefits for heritage Aston Martin owners:
- Offers much higher output
- Provides a more useful output at idle speed, when sat in heavy traffic for example
- Improved voltage regulation
- Increased reliability over a traditional dynamo
If your car features a number of modern “creature-comfort” upgrades, such as air conditioning, improved lighting, or a modern sound system for example, the improved output from a modern alternator is a must-have. Key to our alternator upgrade is the retention of period-correct aesthetics, protecting the originality of your classic Aston.
