Fitment: DB2, DB2/4, DB2/4 MkII, DB MkIII, DB4, DB5, DB6, DB6 MK2, DBS
Positive earth was the standard at Aston Martin up until the V8 in the 1970s, as it was at most other car manufacturers. As the industry standard has since switched to negative earth, it has become a requirement to convert classic Aston Martins in order to allow for the fitment of modern electronic upgrades and enhancements.
In terms of the work required, a number of components are replaced during the conversion including the battery, alternator, fuel pump, rev counter, some associated wiring and any other earth-sensitive components. By carrying out the conversion your classic Aston will be prepared for upgrades such as a modern Bluetooth head unit, alarm and tracker or remote central locking. Negative earth systems are also shown to be more resistance to corrosion within the wires themselves, helping the longevity of your pride and joy.
