Steering Wheel Diameter Change

As one of the main touchpoints in your classic Aston Martin, the steering wheel (and how it feels to use) is one of the major parts of the heritage Aston driving experience. There are a few reasons to change steering wheel. Firstly, after decades of heavy use the original wheel can simply be showing signs of wear and tear that brings down the rest of the wonderful interior.

Often, we find that steering wheel changes are dictated by the need to change diameter. This could be due to the steering weight being somewhat heavy, with owners choosing a larger steering wheel (offering more leverage when turning) rather than a more expensive power-steering setup that could be considered overkill for their use case. Also, taller drivers may benefit from a reduction in steering wheel diameter; more space between the wheel and seat makes entering and exiting the car easier. This is especially the case on Feltham-era Astons, where the smaller cabins can make it a tight squeeze.

We have a range of steering wheel options available that match the character and aesthetics of a classic Aston Martins interior. We are also manufacturing steering wheel bosses in-house; these are proving hard to find for some models.
