Modern Adjustable Lever Shock Absorbers

Fitment: DB5, DB6, DB6 MK2, DBS

Aston Workshop are currently developing a modern enhancement over the 1960s adjustable 'Selectaride' shock absorbers as fitted to the DB5, DB6 and DBS. Selectaride dampers were offered as an option on the DB5, then as standard fitment on the DB6 introduced in 1965. Aston Martin’s of the period were designed to be fast, comfortable grand tourers, so by having adjustable damping controlled by a rotary switch on the dash drivers could tune their car for handling or comfort in real time.

The original Selectaride system has always proved tricky to keep working, with most owners choosing to ditch the adjustability for telescopic dampers instead. The new adjustable lever arm dampers are a modern interpretation of the original Selectaride concept that offers improved reliability and handling performance. A direct 'bolt-on' part (as opposed to telescopic dampers which require a conversion kit), the Aston Workshop adjustable lever shock absorber combines originality with modern suspension performance.
