What is your job role at Aston Workshop?
Transport Manager responsible for the movement of customers cars throughout the UK
Where did you work before Aston Workshop?
With my wifes help, I ran a small business transporting classic and prestige cars with our covered car transporter
Whats the best part of your job?
Once I leave Aston Workshop with my truck, I am left to get on and do what I do best. This means, that I can work the hours to suit traffic and travelling, this often means that on the return journey, after an overnight park up, I can leave at 3 or 4 am, reaching Aston Workshops around lunchtime, off loading, then the rest of the day is my own.
What car do you drive?
I actually own a Vectra GSI, with all whistles and bells however; I am only allowed to drive this when my other half is not using it! She reckons that the older Astra diesel is good enough to leave at Aston Workshop whilst I am off up or down the road with my mistress (the truck)!!
What is your favourite car?
I started as an apprentice mechanic at the age of 15, and worked my way up to Group Service Manage in Dubai for a Rolls Royce / Bentley / Aston Martin franchise. This all gave me the opportunity to drive many exotic and prestigious vehicles. The one car that I still linger after is a V12 E Type Jaguar Roadster, red with chrome spokes. I have been told that it is still possible for me to own one; apparently, all I have to do is choose the correct 6 numbers!!
Where do you live?
South East Northumberland, overlooking the sea, in a small ex mining village called North Seaton
What is your favourite food?
Plain simple home cooking
Which songs would be on your driving soundtrack?
Taste in music is vast, ranging from country and western, popular music, and light rock. Particular favourites would be Chris Rea, Travelling Wilburys
What do you keep in your glove compartment?
As I have 3 glove compartments, they are all crammed full of things that hopefully I will never need, like torch, first aid kit and empty CD cases
