Aston Workshop are proud to offer this stunning, 3-owner, matching numbers time warp DB6 to the market.
DB6/3283/R is one of the most unmolested DB models we have come across in many years having been cherished by its 3 former keepers. Presented for sale in time warp condition having never been restored and has reputedly never been painted! Surely making this one of the rarest Astons currently available!
Originally supplied to Doctor J B Labia of South Kensington, London SW7 by HR Owen, finished in Dawn Blue with Grey Connolly leather the DB6 also was equipped with a Webasto sunroof, chrome road wheels, Borg-Warner automatic gearbox, power-assisted steering, front seat belts, 3 eared spinners, power ariel and a heated rear windscreen from the factory.
The original service booklet accompanying the Aston shows that it covered 17000 trouble-free miles with the first custodian before passing to the second owner who also covered a similar distance in his 2 years of ownership. The third owner purchased the car in 1972 and enjoyed the car for the next 55 years taking the Aston to its current reading of 83,198 miles. The car has been fully inspected by our team of craftsmen who can back up the claims of originality.
Chassis
As with all classic Astons corrosion to the chassis and body are big factors to consider when looking at potential purchases. The chassis is in overall very good condition however it does have some corrosion to the sill areas, crucially it has never had poor standard repairs carried out which lots of these Astons have fallen foul of. With some sympathetic chassis work, this could be returned to its former glory for years to come.
Body and Paint
Although the original cellulose paint does have imperfections what we feel is especially nice on this example is the panel gaps and alignment of the body fittings, owing to the fact it has never been interfered with the hand-beaten “Superleggera” aluminium body is in exceptional condition.
Mechanical
The Aston is presented in running and driving condition with good oil pressure and compression. The Aston has been maintained to a high standard over its 55-year life span. With the addition of a stainless steel exhaust system and new wire wheels in 2013 according to the history file.
Trim
The grey connelly leather is in generally good condition stitching and piping is all intact and it has a lovely patina. The car benefits from a factory-fitted Webasto sunroof which is in good order and works as it should. There has been a hazard warning switch and 4 speakers added to the interior of the Aston at some point in its life, the glass and chrome work are all in very good order.
Team view
Overall, a highly desirable DB6 is in incredibly rare condition at a very attractive price. with some subtle targeted repairs, the Aston could be enjoyed for many more years to come.
Offered for sale as is with a comprehensive history file including the original service booklet, heritage certificate, current UK registration document and 39 tax discs issued between 1974 and 2021.
