Further Information

Feted by the critics and favoured by British royalty, this was Lagondas answer to the Bentley Flying Spur Continental. Styled by Touring, it was a personal favorite of Sir David Brown, owner of Aston Martin and Lagonda during the 1950s and 1960s. Designed around the Aston DB4, but using the later DB5 straight six, 3995cc engine, the Rapide should have been a highly successful car, alas only 55 cars were produced between 1961-1965. The Rapide featured dual circuit, servo assisted disc brakes. The coachwork had aluminum panels, leather seats and wood facia and door cappings. Without doubt a grand luxury, touring saloon that deserved far greater recognition. This particular example is in outstanding condition. Converted from automatic to manual in 1967 it comes complete with a well kept history file. Feel like a prince for only £34,950
