We have just received instructions from the owner of this Aston to re-launch it under the banner of "Offers Invited" please contact us if you have a serious interest in purchasing this car!
We are privileged to offer for sale this absolutely stunning, very rare and very low mileage V8 550 Vantage - Twin Supercharged.
RHD with manual transmission and finished in Pentland Green Superlustre complimented with a special order Fern Green leather interior.
This one family owned car is one of only 150 such Vantages and comes with a complete Aston Martin Works Service History, to whom it was most recently sent for a routine service and health check.
Having covered an incredibly low 9065 miles since new (fully authenticated), its condition can only be described as flawless. It is a car without any blemish and is as near brand new as any car that is ever likely to come up for sale.
Not only does this fantastic thoroughbred have all the features usually associated with the 550 Vantage, but this particular car also has one of the finest and most comprehensive sound systems we have ever seen. Aston Martin Works Service installed the system, designed by Gemini Systems, one of the worlds finest Hi-Fi manufacturers, to special order. The installation is a work of art in itself.
The V8 550 twin supercharged Coupe has its origins with the V8 Virage, that Aston Martin launched to replace the then ageing Aston Martin V8 in 1988. With funds for investment boosted by Ford, the Virage matured, with the introduction of the Virage Volante, the Virage special edition, and then from 1996, the introduction of the V8 Coupe, as a complimentary model to the DB7.
The Aston Martin 5.3 litre V8 engine has shown itself capable of considerable development, not only from the introduction of new 4 valve cylinder heads and fuel injection, but was capable of being enlarged to in excess of 6 litres and being supercharged. With the V8 Coupe now on sale, and with Aston Martin concentrating increasingly on DB7 production and the development of its replacement, the V12 Vanquish, a series of run out special editions starting with the V8 Coupe, were launched in 1995 and continued in very low volume to order only production until 1999. Complimenting the V8 Coupe, the AM Vantage was announced, this time featuring twin Eaton Superchargers and developing 550 bhp. This endowed the car with 190 mph top speed and vivid acceleration with 0 to 60 mph taking sub 5 secs and 0 to 100 mph in 10 secs.
A total of 100 V8 Coupes were built with a further 150 550 Vantages.
These are the last of the traditional, hand built Aston Martin cars. They are full of delightful little touches reflecting the bespoke craftsmanship of their manufacture. The build quality and attention to detail are a constant source of delight. When this is also complimented by the extraordinary performance that the Vantage 550 can give, it makes for a truly memorable motoring experience.
The example we have for sale is near perfect, the quality of which we doubt we shall ever be able to offer again. This car really must be seen to be fully appreciated. It is an outstanding testament to the coachbuilders art and in fantastic condition, a true jewel of a car!
A once in a lifetime opportunity - Dont miss it!
