Further Information
With only 2 owners from new and exceptionally low mileage (23,000 miles/37,000 kms), this lovely example of the Virage Volante offers the opportunity to own one of that rare and much sought after breed, a truly hand-built Aston Martin convertible. The 2+2 version of the Virage Volante was first shown at the 1991 Geneva Motor Show with production beginning in 1992. By the time production ended in 1996, 233 examples had been made, this being number 192. Originally exported to South Africa when new, it remained there until the second owner returned to the UK in 2011, bringing his beloved Aston Martin with him. What really sets this Aston Martin apart is the styling (the results of which can be clearly seen in our photographs of the actual car for sale), featuring upgrades that were originally offered as a £15,000 option by the factory. The front end styling is that of the 6.3, including replacement front wings featuring the classic vents, plus upgraded 17” alloys. Make no mistake, this is a very imposing Volante with great road presence whilst a fully powered mohair hood, hand-stitched Connolly hide, cruise control, Sony CD radio & polished burr walnut interior ensure just as much gratification on the inside. Also benefiting from a 4 speed automatic gearbox as opposed to the old 3 speed which greatly enhancements the performance. Looking absolutely resplendent in the classic combination of Rolls Royce Blue and Magnolia Hide with matching piping, out on the open road performance is vigorous, just as it should be with any well maintained, low mileage Aston Martin.
