Further Information
The SVX was a special edition of the iconic Land Rover Defender, introduced to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the British 4x4. The SVX was available as both a station wagon and a soft top (just like ours'), offering British buyers the first opportunity to choose an open-skies Defender for two decades. The SVX is powered by the revised 2.4 litre four-cylinder Ford turbo-diesel engine, but gained Recaro seats, big wheels and distinctive bright work, including a silver coloured grilled and headlamp surround. It’s also flatter-riding than any previous Defender courtesy of some subtle, SVX-only improvements to the damping and therefore, much more comfortable. And just like the original open Land Rovers, the SVX soft-top stacks its spare wheel behind the front seats and features a flat load bed complete with useful lockbox hidden underneath. First registered in September 2008 our one owner example has just 31,500 miles recorded and very comprehensive Service History, being carried out by Main Dealer in Newcastle. With just 300 released for the home market the SVX is already a collectors item and straight out of the Tomb Raider catalogue!
