10-Year-Engine-Warranty Terms and Conditions

1. INTERPRETATION
1.1 In these Conditions the following words have the following meanings:
“Buyer” the person(s), firm or company who purchases the Goods and/or the Services from Aston Workshop Ltd;
“Aston Workshop Ltd” Aston Workshop Limited;
“Goods” refers to the engine(s) Aston Workshop is providing to the “Buyer”
2. Statuary Rights
2.1 The benefits of this warranty are in addition to your rights and remedies under law, including your rights and remedies under UK Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded or modified. Subject to the exclusions and limitations below, Aston Workshop Ltd warrants that the engine will be free from defects
in workmanship and materials for the specified warranty period.
2.2 If a defect covered by warranty appears before the end of the warranty period, then Aston Workshop Ltd will, in its sole discretion, replace or repair the defective goods or workmanship free of charge.
3. QUALITY
3.1 Aston Workshop Ltd warrants that upon delivery, the Goods shall:
3.1.1 for a period of 6 month period from the date of delivery, the complete engine will be of satisfactory quality within the meaning of the Sale of Goods Act 1979; 9.1.2 be reasonably fit for use as component parts for automotive, as the case may be; and
3.1.2 for a period of 10 years from the date of delivery, the long block (base engine without ancillaries) will be reasonably fit for any particular purpose for which the Goods are being bought if the Buyer had made known that purpose to Aston Workshop Ltd in writing and Aston Workshop Ltd has confirmed in writing that it is reasonable for the Buyer to rely on the skill and judgement of Aston Workshop Ltd.
3.2 Aston Workshop Ltd shall not be liable for a breach of any of the warranties in Condition 9.1 unless:
3.2.1 The Buyer agrees with Aston Workshop Ltd to build the Goods using the components recommended by Aston Workshop Ltd to meet the gold standard specification; and
3.2.2 The Buyer gives written notice of the defect to Aston Workshop Ltd within 14 days of the time when the Buyer discovers or ought to have discovered the defect
3.2.3 Aston Workshop Ltd is given a reasonable opportunity after receiving the notice of examining such Goods and the Buyer (if asked to do so by Aston Workshop Ltd) returns such Goods to Aston Workshop Ltd’s place of business at the Buyer’s cost for the examination to take place there.
3.2.4 Records are shown to Aston Workshop Ltd of correct service work carried out, either parts or workshop original invoices are required.
3.3 Aston Workshop Ltd shall not be liable for a breach of any of the warranties in Condition 9.1 if: 3.3.1 the Buyer makes any further use of such Goods after giving notice pursuant to Condition.
3.3.2 the defect arises because the Buyer failed to follow Aston Workshop Ltd’s oral or written instructions as to the storage, installation, use or maintenance of the Goods or (if there are none) good trade practice; or
3.3.3 the Buyer alters or repairs such Goods without the written consent of Aston Workshop Ltd.
3.3.4 the Buyer transfers ownership of the goods.
3.3.5 the Goods have undergone normal wear and tear.
3.3.6 the Goods have undergone corrosion or erosion.
3.3.7 damage is caused by dirt or other contaminants.
3.3.8 damage is caused by misuse, motorsports, abuse or neglect.
3.3.9 damage cause by overheating.
3.3.10 defective service parts were installed on the engine in the Buyers' ownership.
3.3.11 service work is not carried out by a competent garage.
3.3.12 use of incorrect grade of oil.
3.3.13 the use of low-grade fuel, or indirectly as a result of ethanol-related issues.
3.3.14 the Buyer takes apart the long block or modifies the ancillaries without consent.
3.3.15 the Buyer removes the overheat detection sticker.
4. General
4.1 The 10-year warranty applies worldwide. But in the case where the goods travel to a different continent away from where it was delivered, we cannot guarantee the same operation due to environmental changes. In this instance, Aston Workshop Ltd would have to confirm to continue the warranty and if needed give advice on adjusting the setup correctly for these different conditions.
4.2 If a repair is carried out then the replacement engine is covered for the rest of the warranty
4.3 The buyer is responsible for the cost of the maintenance/consumable items replaced during the warranty repairs
5. Servicing Requirements
5.1 500 Miles /First Service
• Change engine oil and filter (oil must be correct per build specifications)
• Pressure test cooling system and retighten hose clamps, test water pump bearings for play
• Recheck all engine fitment bolts and nuts
• Check emission controls are working correctly
• Check timing
• Add/check coolant (where applicable)
• Check thermostat and cooling fans operation
5.2 5000 Miles
• Change engine oil and filter (oil must be correct per build specifications)
• Pressure test cooling system and retighten hose clamps, test water pump bearings for play
• Recheck all engine fitment bolts and nuts
• Check emission controls are working correctly
• Check timing
• Add/check coolant (where applicable)
• Check thermostat and cooling fans operation
5.3 10000 Miles
• Change engine oil and filter (oil must be correct per build specifications)
• Pressure test cooling system and retighten hose clamps, test water pump bearings for play
• Recheck all engine fitment bolts and nuts
• Check emission controls are working correctly
• Check timing
• Add/check coolant (where applicable)
• Check thermostat and cooling fans operation
5.4 15000 Miles
• Change engine oil and filter (oil must be correct per build specifications)
• Pressure test cooling system and retighten hose clamps, test water pump bearings for play
• Full mechanical healthcheck
• Check emission controls are working correctly
• Check timing major inspection of engine tuning
• Add/check coolant (where applicable)
• Check thermostat and cooling fans operation
• Change air and fuel filters
• Replace Spark Plugs
5.5 Carry out 20,000 mile service the same as 5,000 and repeat cycle.
5.6 This schedule is not exhaustive and may be subject to change if specified otherwise for your specific engine.
