Classic Aston Martins can often suffer from uncomfortably high cabin temperatures, which is a result of excessive heat losses from the exhaust manifolds. This issue, which affects most classic cars to some extent, is a particular issue on heritage Aston Martins due to the tight packaging underneath the car and the use of fibreglass on the transmission tunnel.
To avoid this heat soak from the exhaust to the cabin there are two main corrective enhancements we can carry out. Firstly, the excessive heat can be deflected and absorbed by modern heat insulation. Click here for more details.
Second, the issue can be negated further by the use of our ceramic exhaust coating. The coating is applied to the manifolds and the front portion of the exhaust system to drastically reduce the transmission of heat outwards from the exhaust. The improved thermal barrier achieved by the coating ensures that the cabin-heating effect of the exhaust is mitigated, while the other engine-bay components are also kept cooler helping prolong their life. Your Aston's interior will be more comfortable, while the cooler engine bay will contribute to improved performance and reliability.
As standard, we choose a dark grey coating that blends in nicely to the engine bay. We have a range of colours available for owners wanting to personalise their car a little more.
