Classic Aston Martins can often suffer from uncomfortably high cabin temperatures, which is a result of excessive heat transfer from the exhaust manifolds and overall high engine bay temperatures. This issue, which affects most classic cars to some extent, is a particular issue on heritage Aston Martins due to the tight packaging underneath the car and the use of fibreglass on the transmission tunnel. High cabin temperatures are particularly an issue in warmer climates, where ambient temperatures make it harder to keep cabins cool.
To limit this heat soak from the exhaust to the cabin there are two main corrective enhancements we can carry out. Firstly, we can contain as much heat as possible within the exhaust system by applying our ceramic exhaust coating. Click here for more details. Second, the issue can be negated further by the use of modern heat insulation around the main sources of heat. Classic Aston Martins feature traditional heat insulation materials such as horsehair, however our modern thermal barrier material is a far better insulator and much easier to work with, as well as standing up to the test of time better.
Your Aston's interior will be more comfortable, making it far more enjoyable to go on the kind of long journeys these grand tourers were designed for. While we use a specific heat insulation material there are varying thicknesses available, meaning we are able to tweak the application process to meet your specific needs.
