The ultimate transmission upgrade for the Aston Martin V8, our 6-speed manual gearbox upgrade offers better performance, improved fuel efficiency and refined usability.
Utilising the Tremec T56 gearbox, as used by Aston Martin in the early 2000s, our 6-speed manual conversion is a perfect fit for the V8-powered Aston models of the 70’s and 80’s. Compared to either the original 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearboxes, the extra ratios allow for better acceleration, improved fuel economy and a lower cruising engine speed while offering a more refined user experience.
Included in our 6-speed upgrade kit are:
- Tremec T56 Gearbox
- AW in-house designed and produced Bell Housing
- Balanced clutch assembly
- Prop yoke
- Speedometer drive
- Gear lever and Knob
- All associated fixings and pipework
Additional parts included for conversions from automatic to manual include:
- Clutch release bearing and master cylinder
- Clutch fluid reservoir and bracket
- Clutch pedal and lever
The benefits of using our 6-speed manual kit are numerous. Having been developed and tested at Aston Workshop and used on many of our restoration projects including our Evolution 6.0 builds, our upgrade is a perfect fit for the V8 chassis. By using our own in-house designed bell housing we are able to avoid the use of an adapter plate, maintaining a period-style look to the drivetrain.
